The Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro and C7 Pro will apparently be the enhanced version of the Galaxy C5 and the C7 smartphone that were launched in China earlier this year. Just in case you are unaware, the Galaxy C series is the company’s latest range of device that aims to carve a niche for itself in the mid-range segment which is currently dominated by the Galaxy A and Galaxy J Series devices. That said, it’s worth noting that the none of the C series devices has made its way out of China and it is expected that the Galaxy C5 Pro and C7 Pro too will debut first in that country itself.

Initial reports revealed few details regarding the specs sheet of the upcoming smartphone duo and much of them were clearly based on Antutu and GeekBench listing. Well, now a tipster based in China has posted on Weibo that the Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro and C7 Pro will be sporting the latest Snapdragon 626 octa-core chip under the hood. This is quite contradictory to the benchmark listing which revealed that the smartphone would be powered by an older generation Snapdragon 625 chip. The latest mid-range octa-core chip from Qualcomm comes with Quick Charge 3.0. It’s also worth mentioning that the Snapdragon 626 chip will be based on 14nm architecture and is said to be about 10 percent powerful and better optimized than its predecessor. Apart from the Snapdragon 626, the tipster has revealed that the smartphone siblings would both come with 4GB RAM. Thus there won’t be much to choose between them in terms of internals. The main difference, however, would lie in the externals. As expected, the Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro would come with 5.2-inch Full HD display, while the Galaxy C7 Pro is reported to tout a larger 5.7-inch panel. It goes without saying that they won’t share the same footprint however the external design of both the smartphone would be on the same line. Apart from that, it is also reported that the Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro and C7 Pro would feature a fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button. There would also be support for NFC to make payments using Samsung Pay. As for the pricing, the Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro and C7 Pro are reported to be priced around $300 (Rs 20,615 approx.) and $400 (Rs 27,534 approx.) respectively. The smartphone duo will run on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 with the company’s own TouchWiz UI on top. It is expected to be announced this December.
