Some artists have managed to create stunning art pieces with the functionality that MS Paint provides. Mac has the ability for you to sign documents using the trackpad, but if you are burning to create your own drawing, there is nothing built into the OS to do that. Until now, that is. Mac users can finally doodle to their heart’s content with a new application to rival MS Paint. Here’s how it works and where you can get it.

Created by award-winning developer João Gabriel, the Magic – Drawing app is fairly simple yet has the potential to provide hours of creative fun. By using the same technology that Mac provides for signing documents, Magic allows for drawing. The free app is available in the App Store, and it’s brilliant in its simplicity. There really isn’t much to it, as it has all the functions that you’ll need to sketch out a line drawing. You can customize your brushes with things like color, size, and opacity.
Features that come with Magic
Here are some of the features you can expect with the Magic – Drawing app: • Draw with your trackpad – Use built-in or connected trackpads as a drawing portal. • Strike some pressure – Because the Force Touch trackpad is pressure-sensitive, Magic can use pressure data to fine tune your brush. And that’s also customizable. • Customize your brush – With color, size, pressure and opacity settings, your brush is customizable and with even more features to come in the future. • Save your projects – All magic projects can be saved and managed in your system with zero hassle. In the most recent update, Gabriel added an undo/redo button, included three new background styles, and added a new “documents options” to the menu. The app was designed to use Mac’s built-in trackpad but can be used with a connected third-party trackpad too. The Magic app currently has a rating of 4.2 stars on the App Store, is only 6.8MB in size and the developer claims that it doesn’t collect any private information.
