Verizon just uploaded a four minute video to YouTube that can best be described as an over the top teaser. It features a spy picking up a package from a club in a banged up Audi, then he’s in an opera house, and finally he finds himself stranded on an island with a beautiful counter-spy who steals the package he picked up. So what’s in the package? That’s the part I’m having a hard time figuring out.
http://youtu.be/baZCnGDc6EI This package is obviously bigger than a smartphone, which leads me and the guys at PhoneArena to believe that it’s a tablet. The Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX is featured throughout the teaser, so is this a Motorola tablet? We haven’t seen one of those since the days of Android 3.0 Honeycomb. Then again, Motorola hasn’t always been an exclusive Droid partner, remember the HTC Droid DNA? Which leads me to yet another question. Now that Google owns a hardware maker, Motorola, why do they have to depend on ASUS and Samsung to build tablets? Why can’t Motorola build tablets, at that fancy new factory in Texas, and sell them locally? Surely Android tablets are still considered niche enough that said factory can handle the load, right? Anyway, we’ll hopefully find out more over the coming weeks.
