Each week we compile all the major software updates for the biggest devices, including phones tablets on U.S. carriers, unlocked phones, Android ar watches. Making sure your device is running the latest available software is a good housekeeping practice, ensuring you have the latest features with fewer bugs gaping security holes.


Galaxy S6, S6 ge: The Verizon support page for Samsung’s flagship phones doesn’t list one stout feature, but it promises a lot of little fixes new features. The built-in photo editor app now has a drawing mode in case you ever feel like doodling. There are also improvements to the dialer, such as an emergency call button improved voice performance.  G d 10.1 E: It’s your turn for Android llipop. Verizon’s update page details all the Material Design other goodies that come with Android 5.0.2. The tablet of course carries ’s interface overlay, but it’s a rather minimal skin. 


Xperia Z3: This update finally brings Android llipop enables access to b 12, which is 70MHz spectrum that T-Mobile recently purchases for E. The T-Mobile support page for this update is live, so the new software should be on its way to your device soon.

U.S. Cellular

Galaxy Tab S 10.5: You’re finally getting llipop in the form of Android 5.0.2. The details are on Samsung’s support site, which specifies all the new features in llipop. The over-the-air update should hit your tablet anytime.


Z Series: Here comes another massive batch of updates to Sony’s smartphones tablets. Sony says Android 5.0 is already on the way to the Xperia Z, Z1, Z2, Z3. The Xperia T2 Ultra, Xperia C3 are going all the way up to Android 5.1, though that’s not going to begin until ly. Sony also pledged to update the Xperia M2 M2 Aqua to Android 5.1, but didn’t offer a timeline for when that would happen.
