When Google announced that they were going to buy Motorola in August 2011, everyone thought it would usher in an age of smartphones running pure Android. Fast forward to May 2012, and the deal finally got approved. So here we are, one year later, where’s our new phones?

If you’ve been following the rumors, supposedly there’s a mysterious device out there called the “X Phone” that will be the be all end all smartphone of our generation. But will it, really? Personally, I’ve stopped following all the X Phone rumors because they’ve gotten out of hand. And now I know I’m not the only one who feels this way. Spoiler alert: We don’t know anything, and the rumor mill is going crazy for reasons no one understands.
