1. AMOLED vs LCD front

The most noticeable difference between the two devices hits you the moment you see them. The Vivo V15 Pro does have a slightly bigger display (6.39 inches to 6.3) but the most obvious difference is the material – the V15 Pro has an AMOLED display while the Redmi Note 7 Pro has an LCD one, although Xiaomi claims it is the best quality LCD around.

2. Plastic and glass back

They might have similar gradient finished backs, but the Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with Gorilla Glass 5 on the back, while the V15 Pro basically has textured carbonate.

3. Two or three colors!

No, we are not being racist, but for those for whom colors matter, the Redmi 7 Pro comes in three colors Space Black, Neptune Blue, and Nebula Red. Of these, the Space Black is plain and has no gradient finish. The Vivo V15 Pro, on the other hand, comes in Topaz Blue and Ruby Red, and both have gradient finishes.

4. Fingerprint sensors on the front and back

The Vivo V15 Pro has an in-display fingerprint scanner. The Redmi Note 7 Pro has one at the back.

5. 48-megapixel cameras but different parents

Both phones have made news for coming with a 48-megapixel sensor. But there the similarity ends – the Vivo V15 Pro has a Samsung ISOCELL GM1 sensor while the Redmi Note 7 Pro has a Sony IMX586 sensor.

6. Two versus three cameras

The Redmi Note 7 Pro has two cameras at the back – the 48-megapixel main sensor and a 5-megapixel sensor. The Vivo V7 Pro has three – the 48-megapixel main sensor, and an 8 megapixel and a 5-megapixel sensor.

7. That pop-up selfie snapper

The Vivo V15 Pro has actually made news for its front-facing 32-megapixel camera which is lodged behind the display and pops out when needed. The Redmi Note 7 Pro, on the other hand, has a single 13-megapixel sensor inside the ‘dot notch’.

8. A memory card slot of its own

The Vivo V15 Pro comes in a single variant 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, while the Redmi Note 7 Pro has two variants 4 GB/ 64 GB and 6 GB/ 128 GB. However, it is important to note that while both phones have memory card slots, the Note 7 Pro has a hybrid SIM slot while the V15 Pro has a dedicated slot for the memory card.

9. U and I are in different worlds

Both phones run on Android 9 (Pie), but come with their own interface – the V15 Pro has the Funtouch OS 9 while the Note 7 Pro comes with MIUI 10.

10. Different ports but no battery blues

The Vivo V15 Pro comes with a 3700 mAh battery with support for dual engine fast charging. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 7 Pro has a 4000 mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4. Interestingly, while the Note 7 Pro has gone with the USB Type C port for charging, the Vivo 15 Pro sticks with the good old micro USB.

11. Water issues

The Redmi Note 7 Pro is splash proof as it comes with a p2i nano-coating, which is about all right for liquid spills and mild rain. The Vivo V15 Pro has no such protection.

12. Price points…and they are pointed

Well, yeah, obviously. There is a veritable gulf when it comes to price between the two devices – the Vivo V15 Pro comes for Rs 28,990 and has only a 6 GB/ 128 GB variant, while the Redmi Note 7 Pro starts at Rs 13,999 for the 4 GB/ 64 GB version and goes up to Rs 16,999 for the 6 GB/ 128 GB edition.
